Q: What is the Cutoff day/time for getting my Survivor Pool pick in each week?
A: This is a configuration setting to set the Cutoff day/time that is specific to each Pool. Check your League Settings to see if it occurs at the start of the first game of the week or on a designated day/time of the week.
Q: We have a Survivor Pool for the playoffs that will only allow you to use a team once. What happens if we have two owners that make it through Championship week without losing, but only one of them have a team left for the Super Bowl? Do they automatically win? If not, what happens if they pick the losing team in the Super Bowl?
A: Since there are two teams that have not picked a losing team yet, the pool will continue through the Super Bowl. The owner without a team will be marked with a No Pick, thus receiving a loss. Should the other owner lose, we will work through the tie-breakers established for your league to determine a winner. We realize that some pools may want to award the trophy to the owner that has a team left in the Super Bowl. It is your pool. We just grade it a certain way, but you can establish your own rules. If you do want to handle it this way, just change the owner the pick to be correct for the owner that had a Super Bowl choice left and we will crown them champion for you. As long as the Commissioner understands how MFS does the scoring, we assume that they will inform their owners about how they wish to alter the rules for their pool.
Q: I am the Commissioner in our Survivor Pool. A few teams lost today and I am looking to Rebirth them but can't figure out how. What am I missing?
A: The NFL week has to finish and it is currently Sunday evening. Our end-of-week processing needs to execute to position the teams for you to Rebirth using your Rebirth Teams Commissioner Tool. This takes place after Monday Night Football is over. You should see the teams that lost using this tool on Tuesday morning.
Q: What happens if the NFL game ends in a Tie?
A: For Survivor Pools, Ties are always considered losses. To Survive and continue, you must pick a team that wins outright (or loses if you are picking Losers).
Q: How does the Rebirth cut-off week work?
A: If your league is set up to allow Rebirths, the cut-off week is the last completed week of the NFL season that teams can be allowed to be rebirthed back into the pool to continue to compete. So, if your Pool allows one Rebirth and the cutoff week is Week 4, then your team can lose a game in any week between week 1 and week 3 and the Commissioner will be able to Rebirth your team back into the Pool before the pool picks close for Week 4 (This usually involves paying a fee. Check your league settings or ask your Commissioner). If your first loss occurs during or after Week 4 in this scenario, then you are out of the Pool. Sorry!
Q: Our league is set up so you can only use a team once. If I use a team as my Survivor pick and it loses, can I use them again in a later week (if I get Rebirthed, that is)?
A: Win or lose, it doesn't matter. You can only use a team the maximum number of times allowed by your Pool, even if your earlier usage of the team resulted in a loss. You will need to check to League Settings to see what the maximum number of times you can use the same team. Keep in mind that the number can be different in the regular season versus a pool that is running during the NFL playoffs.
Q: This is our first year running a Survivor Pool on your site. The first team lost last week and we allow rebirths for a $20 kick-in but he wasn't rebirthed. Why?
A: Being rebirthed is viewed as a personal choice, especially when it involves a monetary kick-in. As much as we like to spend other people's money, we draw the line when it comes to Survivor Pools. The Commissioner must manually rebirth individual teams. MFS will rebirth teams only when all of the remaining teams lose on the same week and the first tie-breaker is to rebirth these teams.
Q: My Survivor Pool is not using the Point Spread but it shows up on my picks. Why?
A: Point spreads are displayed as an aid to help you make your Survivor Pick. It is provided to show you how much of a favorite one team is over the other. Survivor Pools do not use the point spread for anything other than information. MFS does use the point spread when making an Autopick or you using your Autopick setting from your Team Details on your Team Home page. That is, if your pool uses Autopicks and you have any available for us to use.
Q: What is the Total Tiebreaker Points on my standings?
A: The Total Tiebreaker Points comes into play as a season-ending tie-breaker, if one is needed. The number is accumulated throughout the season by adding the spread of each game picked by each team in the pool. The lower the number (closer to 0), the better. It means that a team has picked closer games, thus going with riskier picks.
Q: I have some teams who lost on Sunday and would like to get a Rebirth for the Monday Night Football game. However, your site won't allow me to Rebirth for the current week. What can I do?
A: Our Survivor Pools only allow for one pick per team per week. However, if you want to accomplish multiple picks, you could simply change the picks for the teams you want to allow to circumvent these rules by using the Edit Previous Picks function on your League Home Page to change their current pick for the MNF game. The reporting and Finances won’t be accurate as we’ll only count the MNF game, but it should work for you and you can handle the Finances separately (and update them manually using the Finances link also found on the League Home Page).
Q: We had 3 teams left last week and 2 lost so we have a winner. I want to play out a second place finish but the remaining teams have no rebirths left. How can I do this?
A: Our Survivor Pools award first place when there is one team left standing and set up the Final Standings. You could manually track the remaining places and leave the Standings as-is since teams that are out can still make picks for the rest of the regular season.
Q: We have teams still alive in our pool and we are extending into the playoffs to determine a winner. Does the list of teams already picked get reset for the playoffs?
A: Yes, we track the number of times a team is picked in the regular season separately from the playoffs. Also, your pool is configured with separate Maximums for the number of teams can be picked in the regular season versus the playoffs. This setting is found in the League Setting section of your configuration.
