Q: How do I select a Square?
A: You click on the checkbox on an open Square and hit the Update button at the top left or bottom left of the Grid. You can either fill in a name or we'll fill in the name on your profile.

Q: How are the teams and numbers assigned?
A: The teams and numbers are generated randomly by a MFS randomization function. The teams are randomly placed on the X and Y axis as are the numbers. There is no option for the commissioner to manually set. During the playoffs, we receive the team names from our stats provider in a schedule file; normally 24 hours after the prior games are completed.

Q: When do the team names get changed from Team A and Team B to the actual NFL team names?
A: The team names and numbers get randomly generated at the same time. If your commissioner is in charge of generating the numbers, when the pool is full, or at any time of his/her choosing, the randomizer can be initiated and the numbers and team names are assigned and Team A and Team B will be replaced. If the pool generates at the start of the game, then the numbers and teams are assigned as soon as we receive the first play file from our stats provider.

Q: I set my pool up to generate our numbers when the game starts. Our pool is filled and everyone wants their numbers in advance. What do I do?
A: You can change your League Settings for Assign Numbers and NFL Teams to be Commissioner triggers number assignment. This will will display a Commissioner Tool to Set Square Numbers.

Q: I'm not sure if my pool will be filled when the game starts but I have some people that are coming over after it starts. How can I keep the pool open so they can get Squares?
A: Make sure your League Settings for Assign Numbers and NFL Teams is set to Commissioner triggers number assignment. This setting keeps the pool open until you manually generate the numbers for your Square, which could be any time before, during or after the game.

Q: Our pool is set up to regenerate numbers at the end of each quarter. How does that work?
A: When the numbers are generated by your Commissioner or at the start of the game by MFS, this function is repeated for each period at that time so you will know your numbers for each period up front. This is a nice feature as it gives each player multiple chances at the more common winning numbers (3,3 or 7,7 or...) instead of being stuck with 5,5 the whole game.

Q: How will I know what my numbers/teams are for the Squares that I picked?
A: When the numbers are generated by your Commissioner or at the start of the game by MFS, an email will be send to the email address listed on your MFS Userid Profile. It will not be readable unless your mail client reads HTML-formatted email. Additionally, your pool Home page will have the teams and numbers listed along the top and side. The payouts will be added to the winning squares on the home page and the winning square(s) will be shaded in green.

Q: Our pool has a payout for Overtime. What happens when the game doesn't go into OT?
A: If the game does not go into Overtime, the grid for that period is ignored and the previous quarter's winner(s) receives the payout(s).

Q: What is a reverse payout?
A: For example, if the end of first Qtr is New Orleans 10 and Indy 7, the person who owns the 0 square for New Orleans and the 7 for Indy wins the 1st Quarter Payout. For the reverse, the person who owns the 0 square for Indy and the 7 for New Orleans wins the Reverse 1st Quarter Payout.

Q: I configured my Squares Pool to have the numbers reset at the end of each quarter. Do all the numbers get assigned before the game starts or does MFS wait until the quarter ends?
A: When the numbers are assigned by our randomizer, it will assign all numbers for all periods at that time so everyone will know their numbers for the whole game before the game starts.

Q: How can I delete a Pool I started?
A: The Commissioner will need to email the League Name and League ID (found on the League Settings) to MFS at info@maximumfantasysports.com and we'll delete the Pool and all related information.

Q: Can I run a Squares pool for a game outside the NFL?
A: Yes, but we do not receive stats feeds for other leagues right now. You can register a Squares Pool and pick the "Generic" game. This will allow you to configure the pool and have participants pick squares. The difference is that you will have to manually trigger the numbers and use the Commissioner Tool to Assign Team Names. Also, we will not visually award the winners, but it is a better option than running on paper.
